DAVID W. GRIFFIN was born in Quantico, Virginia in 1955 and raised in a career Marine family. A permanent resident of Clearwater since 1972, he graduated from Clearwater High School in 1973, awarded Associates of Arts Degree from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1975, awarded Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida in 1977 and graduated from Stetson University College of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1980, keeping current with regular continuing education seminars.

David is blessed with a lovely daughter Alyse, currently attending USF pursuing a degree toward a health care profession.

David is an active, perpetual member of Clearwater Lodge 127 F&AM and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He is a member of the Clearwater Bar, and Florida Bar, a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section of the Florida Bar, and licensed to practice before all Courts of the State of Florida, together with the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and a Title Insurance Agent with Attorneys Title Insurance Fund, Inc. and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.

From 1980 - 1997 he practiced law in Clearwater with Robert W. Wilson as Wilson & Griffin, P.A., and from 1997 to present in private practice as David W. Griffin, P.A. with the support and expertise of Lesley Johantgen, his legal assistant since 1991.

Mr. Griffin maintains a busy general civil practice, primarily an office practice specializing in residential and commercial real estate, title insurance and closing services, estate planning and administration, business and transactional law.

LESLEY JOHANTGEN was born and raised in upstate New York, relocating to Florida in 1984 by way of Raleigh, North Carolina. She started working for David as his legal assistant in 1991, quickly earning the respected position of “invaluable assistant”. Lesley handles everything from answering the phone to coordinating all details of real estate transactions, estate planning and business transaction work, document production, execution, and follow ups, file maintenance and control, bookkeeping and accounting, and client relations. Lesley resides in Dunedin, and is very proud of her son, Jason Johantgen, who runs Clearwater Beach Wave Runners out of the Clearwater Marina; and her daughter Holly Johantgen, DOM, who has an acupuncture and oriental medicine practice in Clearwater.
